Week 1

Six drawings from direct observation (real things only, not from photographs). Three objects should be man-made or mechanical objects. The other three should be of organic objects (natural objects).

Week 2

Animate six object. Give each object "life". It doesn't necessarily mean to simply add legs and arms, but instead "distort" the original drawing in a way that it now looks like it could move about, or is alive.

Week 3

Focusing on a mechanical object, where you can see the moving parts. Drawings of inner parts workings, six different times. Focus on a detailed, realistic representation of how these parts interact with one another.

Week 4

Focusing on an organic object (objects with 3-D form), concentrate on shading. Make it look real.

Week 5

Six drawings from direct observation (real things only), that I pass by each day on my way from home to class. These should be things that we normally don’t notice yet we pass by them each day without seeing them. Our goal is to accurately capture a likeness of each object.

Week 6

Six hands in different positions, from direct observation. Goal is to accurately capture the “life” of each hand.

Week 7

Six noses in different positions, from direct observation. Goal is to accurately capture the “life” of each nose.
